Our THEMATIC AREAS

WE COVER THE FOLLOWING THEMEATIC AREAS IN OUR WORK

YOUTH ADVOCACY

We work to ensure that youths maintain their human rights while aiding in skill development in all areas of life such as proper representation, participation, education, health, housing, employment and relationships. We champion the adoption of pro-sustainable livelihood.

Women and people with disabilities

The marginalized groups in Kenya continue to be left behind in terms of development, representation and opportunities, we work with this groups to make sure their voices are had and policies are in place to address some of the injustices they face.

Environment Protection & conservation

Training of youth support groups, CBOs and the general community on environmental techniques. We also have a project that trains young vulnerable mothers on how to use recycle materials like plastic and bottles to make art work and beauty ornaments that they can sell and earn income. This materials are collected from our environment. We also advocate for proper hygiene and clean drinking water in rural and urban-rural areas.

AGRICULTURE

Wakwetu Youths in   partnership    with experts in various agricultural sectors train Youths and women group on proper agricultural techniques and market linkages to help them generate sales and earn income from agriculture

DIGITAL INCLUSION

This is social inclusion in the 21st century that ensues individuals and disadvantaged groups have access to, and skills to use, information and communication Technology (ICT) and therefore able to participate in and benefit from today’s growing knowledge and information society. We are taking digitization to the rural areas and marginalized communities in Kenya.

Community Outreach

At wakwetu youth group, we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing this issue. Food Donation Drop-Off is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area. we are currently carrying out sensitization drives in rural and urban rural communities on how to keep safe during this covid19 pandemic. we are also documenting sex gender based violence that is happening around kakamega county during this period in time

Training of adolescent girls and young women aged between 18 years to 24 years on Policy Making and Reproductive Health across Kakamega, Vihiga, Busia and Bungoma counties respectively

We focus on youth , women and people living with disabilities empowerment through youths voices and spaces in the community,health education among youths, entrepreneurship training, agribusiness trainings and advocacy work
